RE: Three things we'll never be without again

I have had AAA for ever. Ca. is split in half. Southern Ca has different rules then Northern Ca. We went round and round with them on towing. We did get a deal on our car insurance do to the fact that we put our home insurance with them and it droped the car insurance. The have taken care of us. I pealed the roof back last year and they were Johnny on the spot. We made the deductable and they picked up the rest. Anyway before I went side bar I also carry GS towing only.

RE: route 2 across montana

We took 29 days to cross Hiway 2 at this point from Bonners Ferry Idaho to Sault Ste Marie Michigan. We loved every minute of it. All the above that the people have said is great. We followed the Lewis and Clark Trail then come back to 2 and move one down the road. Every person we meet was nice. Everyone that we talked with was always nice. Thing is the people went out of there way to make us welcome. I would travel this road again. We stayed in Havre at Evergreen Campground good people, beautifull sunset, big bugs, Fort Benton down the road. Gosh just have fun and be safe.

RE: Right Coast to the Left Coast? Anyone?

Jay been fallowing your progress and have enjoyed every minute. We did the northern route. Hwy. 2 from Washington to Bar Harbor Maine last summer. I saw early on in the first posts that you want to take Hwy. 1 in California. You might want to check road conditions, do to a real bad wildland fires. Right now the road is closed to all traffic. Big Sur has been evacuated. They hope to have the fire under control by the end of July. I would think the road would be open sooner. Just a heads up for you.

RE: HH CKRSB or Select Suites 34RLSB3

We have the HH,LS 04, UKTG 32.5 three slide. We love it. bought it new at the end of 03 and have not looked back. Few minor problems, but everything has worked itself out. We have used the HH Forum. There is a great wealth of knowledge there and plus HH monitors the site. Good luck on your choice and many years of safe traveling.

RE: Lake Tahoe for a 5er and route

80 is the worst road in the United States. Ca. being some of the worst parts. Some of the other states maintain the road much better than Ca. Snow removeal equipment, chains and what not for winter travel have got to make it hard to keep up. I will never drive 80 again.

RE: Not looking good for the RV Industry.........

I retired April 1st 07. We took our dream trip. From Monterey to Everett Washington, then across the country on Hwy 2 all the way to Bar Harbor Maine. June 6 we left and were back home Oct 1, 07. We love the RV life. We have plenty of places here to do short trips. My retirement plan was to travel one summer, then travel the next winter or fall. So far we have followed this plan. I hope the RV industries keeps going. We truly like to meet new people while we travel hope things look up for the next year.

RE: How often do you check lug nut tightness?

Anytime we have work done on tires and wheels. I check after a real bad road. I have seen a 5er setting on the side of the road with one wheel gone. When I stopped to ask if I could help he told me his lug nuts sheared off.

Check them cold before you leave. I also check the torque for each wheel. So far no problems. I always keep my fingers crossed.

RE: Big Oops

You could drill a hole smaller, tap it, then slowly back it out. Or drill small hole for purchase point and take a nail set and tap it out by backing it out. I have done both before. Good Luck

RE: Forestry Service to close ANF Campground

Gosh I thought you were talking about the Twin Lakes in Ca. Off of Hwy 395 exit Bridgeport Ca. which was already talked about. That is a great campground also. Fishing is outstanding, And if you are into ghost towns Bodie is right down the road along with more great fishing at June Lakes.

Went to a campground from hell in Minnesota. To tight, to narrow, and to small. It went from bad to worse. That's all I need to say
